I see stories about Lalafell being discluded from numerous venues because their small, it urks me because those ppl only see them as children. I allow Lalafell in my venue, not only because i want to let everyone in, but i want to give the finger to lala-hating venues. Lalafell arnt children, their dwarfs. I have a character that calls Lalafell "midget", but she does that on purpose because she gets a kick out of pissing people off (shes a asshole but i try to make her fun to be around anyway), and thats IN CHARACTER. My main Character has a huge heart though and loves literally everyone (though afraid of Garleans) My friend would even get kicked from RP venues soley because she was playing her lala character, and it does tick me off

Drama stories like this remind me that I'm glad to have fully separated myself from the community recently(outside of watching youtube videos). I've been part of so much drama in my own corner of Eorzea, both as the victim and pot-stirrer. This year has been nothing but full of drama when I finally decided to let down my guard and try out RP. Then finally decided that it was just too much, and very very silly the drama that seemed to be never ending. This is a video game, not high school drama club(which plagues the RP scene BIG TIME). Some people thrive in it, and I'll admit years ago so did I. But I'm far too old to be part of a community that likes to act like that. If I ever do return to the game, I'm keeping to myself refusing to participate in anyone's delusion.

I met both my husbands (polyamory) through WoW and we weren't looking for love. Just sorta happened. Looking for love means you literally won't find it.

I think OPs biggest issue was considering actual love to be something SIMPLE. It isn't, you can perhaps find chemistry pretty quickly, but actual love? No, listen, you need to work for that, it takes time and you can't force it. Actual love is NOT SIMPLE OR EASY. Also not a lot of people seek love in places where it doesn't usually belong. I for example really avoid it like the pest in FF14, it is extremely distracting from my desire to just play the game. So yeah, totally on your boat Pathra. Also, no hard feelings to people who found love in the game or play the game with their partner: 1. I am happy for you 2. Have a lovely time, you go enjoy that game! :)

This is like a glimpse into a completely different reality. I'm just a tired nerd with very few spoons available for being social, so this kind of clique stuff going on in FFXIV feels extremely alien.

the insanity of people is why i never just put someone on my friend list in this game. i need a lot more interaction with someone before they land on that list. had some encounters with creeps in the past and i don't need that again. people are way too dense.

I’ve been playing for a few months now and the ffxiv community is the cringiest, most pathetic gaming community I’ve ever seen. You got losers getting upset in dungeons when a healer doesn’t do enough dps. You got a bunch of losers with multiple accounts standing around the city 24/7. You got a whole bunch of people talking in those cities like it’s their real life. You got a bunch of weird ass dudes half naked and 99% gay being weird AF. You got people getting butt hurt and trying to tell people how to play the game. You can literally assume 80% of the community is some dude playing a chick and probably has no life given how seriously they take the game and how pathetic they act. This community is weird AF

I am the leave it on read guy when it comes to drama. When they ask "why didn't you respond?" At first I make up an excuse and change the subject just to be polite but if they press the issue I'll just bluntly tell them to keep me out it. If a friend or acquaintance needs someone to talk to about stuff or needs help I'm happy to lend and ear but dumb drama ain't worth my sanity and my enjoyment of games.
